Community Can Help Fight Hunger with Milk Purchase

Posted: Updated:

Springfield - Qik-n-EZ convenience stores and Prairie Farms are teaming up to fight hunger across Central Illinois.

For every gallon of Prairie Farms milk that is purchased at Qik-n-EZ 50 cents will be donated to the Central Illinois Foodbank. The promotion runs through June 1st at a dozen participating stores through Central Illinois.

There is also an incentive for the customer-they will receive 50 cents off of every gallon of Prairie Farms milk they purchase from participating Qik-n-EZ stores.

"We receive so much support from our communities that we wanted to find a way to give back to them, so partnering with Prairie Farms to get milk to those who need it the most was the perfect way for us to help out." said Qik-n-EZ owner Grady Chronister.

"Our partnership with Prairie Farms has been vital in allowing us to provide dairy products throughout central Illinois, said Central Illinois Foodbank executive director Pam Molitoris. "By adding Qik-n-EZ as a partner, our ability to provide healthy foods including dairy is expanding."
