Freezing Temperatures Still Possible in Central Illinois

Posted: Updated:

CENTRAL ILLINOIS – Temperatures have been mild so far this month, but last night was a good reminder it can still get cold this time of the year.

The average last hard freeze (28 degrees or colder) dates are still a week or two away. The last annual Spring freeze dates, (32 degrees or colder) are even later running into the middle of April.

The current forecast once again has highs in the 50s and 60s, but this time of the year we can still see freezing temperatures at night and highs during the day that can be cold!

Sometimes it's hard to be patient but it's still too early to start planting flowers and certain garden vegetables that are more susceptible to colder temperatures.
