Interns Needed at National Weather Service

Posted: Updated:

The National Weather Service in Lincoln is looking for Meteorology and/or Atmospheric Science majors who would like to participate in a summer volunteer internship program. In the internship, students would learn about the day-to-day operations of the office, including warning operations and forecast creation. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in office research and outreach. This will give students the opportunity to determine whether a career with the National Weather Service may be right for them.

The length of the internship averages two days a week starting in the middle/end of May and continues through early August. A minimum of 160 hours within the program is required and it is an unpaid internship.

The deadline to apply is April 8. For more information and where to send your application, visit the National Weather Service website.
