CHARLESTON – The Eastern Illinois University Dancers will be hosting a showcase of dance and music through the decades on Thursday, March 24, and Friday, March 25.

This event, titled Timeless, will highlight student and guest choreographers under the direction of Amanda Baima and assistant director Samantha Saunders. Various genres of music from the 1920’s to the present will be on display at the show. Event officials say the performance will thoroughly immerse the audience in the era of each dance genre.

“We expect our audience to feel like they are truly experiencing the time period that dancers are modeled after,” says Baima.

Dancers have been preparing since August for the show. Both performances will take place at the Doudna Fine Arts Center, which Baima says has been great in providing “amazing lighting and special effects.”

Tickets can be purchased at both the Doudna Box Office and online. The Box Office accepts cash, checks, credit cards and Panther cards. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for general admission. Performances will take place March 24 and 25 at 7 PM.

More information about the event is available on the Doudna Fine Arts Center’s website.
