UPDATE: Potential for severe storms overnight

Posted: Updated:

CENTRAL ILLINOIS - The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has upgraded us to a “slight” to “marginal” risk for severe weather here in central Illinois. The timing looks to be around midnight to 5 AM on Thursday. As a cold front arrives it will bring the potential for damaging winds and large hail. A few isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out, especially for areas along and west of I-55. Since this is a quick moving system, heavy rain is not expected; around .25” to .50” of rain will be common across central Illinois.

Our team of meteorologists will be tracking this system through the day and posting updates to Facebook and Twitter. Be sure to follow them at:
