NAPERVILLE - Women veterans who fought for our country were honored during a special event hosted by the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs.

The event was held in Naperville from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday, and celebrated the many achievements of women who have served our country in the U.S. Military.  Lt. Col. Sheila Perry was the keynote speaker for this event.

Additionally, a benefits fair was held, allowing attendees the opportunity to view the many services offered to veterans, including benefits assistance, veteran service officers, veteran employment specialists, veteran entrepreneurship resources, veteran case managers, resume review by veteran employment specialists, and state hiring opportunities.  Veterans could also bring their DD form 214 to have it certified by the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs.
