Crisis Nursery Receives Honor From Springfield Clinic


SPRINGFIELD----The Mini O'Beirne Crisis Nursery is getting recognized by Springfield Clinic. Mini O'Beirne received the SC Gives 2016 Spring award.

Springfield Clinic says it chose the organization as the first recipient this year because of its commitment to the health and wellness of youth and families.

Since its inception in 1989, Mini O'Beirne's mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing emergency, temporary care for 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Children who may be at risk, or whose parents are going through some kind of crisis.

Springfield Clinic is donating items needed for operations at Mini O'Beirne, including:

*A large amount of personal care items, including 600 diapers, 1,000 ounces of formula, 500 ounces of Dreft laundry detergent, four potty training seats, 19 play costumes, and 60 child-sized blankets.

SC Gives is now in its second year. Nominations for awards can be made by staff, volunteers, or the general public. They will only be accepted through an online form you can access by clicking HERE.
