Mattoon police investigating aggravated battery

MATTOON - The Mattoon Police Department is seeking the public's help in its investigation into an incident that left one person injured on March 25.

Mattoon police say the incident happened in the 2300-2400 blocks of Commercial Avenue in Mattoon just before 6:00 p.m.  Police say the victim told officers that he was allegedly attacked by four other people, including being struck with a baseball bat.  The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Mattoon police say the suspects in this incident were described as:

- One black male in his 30's, standing about 5'9" with a thin build and short hair
- One black male with a medium build and short hair
- One white male in his 20's, with a short and slim build
- One white male with a medium build
