Edgar County authorities make several drug-related arrests

EDGAR COUNTY - The Edgar County Sheriff's Office says it made several drug related arrests from March 26 through March 29.

Authorities say the first two arrests were made in the parking lot of a Paris Burger King at about 4:00 p.m. on March 26.  Paris Police officers say they saw an alleged hand-to-hand meth sales transaction, and took both individuals into custody.  The individuals, identified as Brandon Switzer and Heather Eads, face preliminary charges of possession of meth.

The third arrest happened at a home in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Paris on March 27.  Edgar County Sheriff's Deputies say upon arriving at the scene, they found a man, identified as Joshua Oglesby, allegedly in possession of meth.  Oglesby was subsequently arrested and taken to Edgar County Jail.

On March 29, at about 1:30 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop on Vance Street at Clark Street.  Authorities say the passenger, later identified as Mark Ross, allegedly jumped from the vehicle and ran, but was later apprehended by deputies.  Authorities also say Ross was allegedly in possession of marijuana packaged for sale and a large amount of cash.  The driver of the vehicle, identified as Stephanie Guinn, was also arrested for allegedly driving on a suspended driver's license.

All arrest reports are being sent to the State's Attorney's Office for formal charges.  We will provide more information as it becomes available.
