Entertainer Tia Mowry, of “Sister, Sister” Fame, to speak at UIUC

URBANA – Tia Mowry, star of “Sister, Sister,” and “The Game,” will be speaking at the Illini Union on Thursday, March 31.

Mowry has been involved in multiple roles in the entertainment industry from author to television personality. She and her identical sister Tamera rose to fame in the popular television series “Sister, Sister” for six seasons in the mid-1990s. Later, she took a break from acting to pursue a degree in psychology from Pepperdine University.

The entertainer returned to television and other projects for roles such as Melanie on “The Game,” as well as a reality show with her twin sister. She also wrote a national bestselling book, entitled “Oh, Baby!: Pregnancy Tales and Advice from One Hot Mama to Another,” as well as a series of young adult books with her sister.

The actress recently wrapped her second season of “Tia Mowry at Home” on the Cooking Channel, along with the third and final season of TV Land’s “Instant Mom.” She can next be seen on Fox’s “Rosewood” and ABC’s “Mistresses.”

Mowry’s appearance will be a question and answer event led by Illini Union Board Director of Programs, Isabel Kadiri. The event is free and open to the public.

She will be speaking at the Illini Union, located at 1401 West Green Street, at 7 PM in the I-Rooms.
