Former Governor Blagojevich to be re-sentenced in June

CHICAGO - WAND News has learned former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich will be re-sentenced on his corruption convictions on June 30.

The news comes after the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago tossed five of Blagojevich’s 18 convictions and ruled that he should be re-sentenced on the 13 remaining counts.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear the former governor’s appeal on his remaining corruption convictions, including his attempt to sell an appointment to the Senate seat once occupied by President Barack Obama.
