Springfield's Leaf Pickup Program to begin April 18

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield officials say the city's Spring Leaf Pickup program is scheduled to begin on April 18.

Officials say the program will continue through the last two weeks of April.  Residents who wish to participate in this program are asked to place their leaves, packaged in paper yard waste bags, on the curb or at the end of their driveways by 7:00 a.m. on Mondays.

Officials also say all bags will be picked up, and that residents should not remove the leaves from the curb once they are placed there.  Leaves should not be placed in grocery sacks or boxes, and residents should not use any tape to seal their bags shut, as it is not recyclable.

Additionally, you may bring your yard waste to Evans Recycling in Springfield, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  During the month of April, all drop offs are free.
