Beware Of SMS Phishing

CHAMPAIGN-----It may be April Fool's Day, but this is no joke. Busey is warning everyone about text messages you could receive that are fraudulent.

Scammers use a form of identity theft known as SMS phishing, or SMiShing. In the scam, criminals send out text messages telling consumers to go to fraudulent web sites so they can steal their personal information. Usually that information will be passwords and financial information.

If you have mistakenly responded to this phishing attack and given sensitive financial or personal information, you need to contact your financial institution immediately.
