Freezing Temperatures Return Friday Night

The typical last hard freeze date, (temps of 28 degrees or colder) is coming up this week in central Illinois. WAND Chief Meteorologist JC Fultz says the cold temperatures are not over with yet. Fultz says a trough will dig into the eastern half of the country allowing cold air to return Friday night into Saturday.

Forecast lows in the mid to upper 20s are possible. A few wet snowflakes can't be ruled out on Friday morning. The average final freeze dates are usually in the middle of April.

Fultz says don't get excited and plant any sensitive vegetation as the 8 to 14 day temperature outlook is calling for below normal temperatures.
