City of Decatur Wellness Team hosts unique Health Fair

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - A one of a kind health fair took place for Decatur city employees, retirees, and their families.

During the fair, vendors and businesses provided routine medical testing and information on several topics, including nutrition and stress management.

"A well person is a good employee," said Lt. Shannon Gutierrez Seal of the Decatur Police Department. "It benefits the employee and their family to have at least a working knowledge of services available in the community to make life better."

The fair lasted until 4:00 PM at the Decatur Civic Center.

Decatur Memorial Hospital, HSHS St. Mary's Hospital, along with Richland Community College Culinary Arts Institute provided a healthy meal to those who attended.

City Manager Tim Gleason says he hopes the event will further emphasize the City's commitment to health.
