Alzheimer's Association Seeks Volunteers

Springfield- The Alzheimer's Association Greater Illinois Chapter is looking for people to become an Alzheimer's Association Community Representative in the Springfield area.

The volunteer would be assist the Alzheimer's Association education team by giving brief educational programs in the community and representing the Association at health fairs and other community events. They would also speak to community organizations about the mission and services of the Association as well as preform outreach to churches, schools and senior clubs.

Professional experience in dementia care is not a requirement, although a screening and background check are. The Community Representative cannot work with organizations or programs that are potential resources for the Association.

To become an Community Representative, go to alz.org/illinois, click on Volunteer and select Alzheimer's Association Community Rep on the application form. Applicants will also be asked to provide one personal and one education or professional reference.
