On Anniversary of Deadly Plane Crash, Investigation Still Incomplete

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - One year after a crash killed seven people, the National Transportation Safety Board said the final report on the crash is still not complete.

NTSB spokesman Peter Knudson said Wednesday the investigator of the April 7, 2015 crash near Bloomington is waiting on several reports. The agency initially said the investigation would take a year to 18 months.

The crash killed an Illinois State University basketball coach, an administrator and five fans who were returning to Bloomington after attending the 2015 NCAA basketball championship in Indianapolis. The victims included 36-year-old associate head coach Torrey Ward and administrator Aaron Leetch.

In a news release, ISU officials encouraged students and fans to remember those killed through something the victim's relatives created called Project 7. They want others to perform seven acts of kindness on April 7.
