Roadside Safety Checks Planned

PESOTUM - Illinois State Troopers plan a Roadside Safety Check in April in Champaign County. District 10 Commander Captain Louis Kink says officers will be watchful for drivers who are operating unsafe vehicles, driving with a suspended or revoked license, transporting open alcoholic beverages, or driving under the influence. Alcohol and drug impairment remains a significant factor in over 40 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. Captain Kink says safety checks are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road.
