MORTON - Former St. Teresa football coach Tim Brilley will be back on the sidelines in the fall, accepting the head coaching position at Morton High School.
The Morton school board approved his hiring Tuesday night. The Potters (5A) went 0-9 in 2015, and haven't made the IHSA playoffs since 2011.
"We'll start fresh," Brilley said. "The school and community is committed to being competitive. They recently spent 5 million dollars on upgrades to facilities. New field turf, new stands. I'm excited to get started."
Brilley resigned his post at St. Teresa just two days after their playoff loss in 2015, at the request of principal Ken Hendrickson. St. Teresa has since hired longtime coach Mark Ramsey to fill the position.
