CHAMPAIGN - University of Illinois officials say they will host a keynote lecture featuring artist Tatyana Fazlalizadeh on April 12.

The lecture, titled "Stop Telling Women to Smile," will be held at the Allen Hall of the University of Illinois' Urbana-Champaign campus at 7:30 p.m.  This event will coincide with Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Anti-Street Harassment Week.

"Stop Telling Women to Smile" is an art series that addresses gender-based street harassment by placing portraits of women with captions directed at offenders in public areas.  Fazlalizadeh will also discuss the importance of ending street harassment, and will also host a workshop on sexual harassment from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Women's Resources Center.

Fazlalizadeh was featured in the New York Times in April 2014 for this art series.  For more information on events being held during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, click here.
