Champaign City Council member announces resignation

Posted: Updated:

CHAMPAIGN - Champaign City Council Member Vic McIntosh has announced that he will resign from his position effective June 1.

McIntosh serves District 3 on the City Council.  In a news release, McIntosh said he is resigning because he is relocating out of his Council district.

"It has been my honor and privilege serving the constituents in District 3 and across Champaign," said McIntosh.

City Council members are expected to discuss plans to fill the vacancy during a scheduled Study Session meeting on April 19.  The term for McIntosh's vacated position will run through May 2017.
