McLeod Express, ISP, ITA teaching driver safety to high school students

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - McLeod Express is teaming up with the Illinois State Police and Illinois Trucking Association to teach high school students tips on how to stay safe when driving near commercial motor vehicles.

More than 700 students from high schools across central Illinois will participate in the program, scheduled to take place at McLeod Express in Decatur, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m, on April 13 and 14.

Officials say the Illinois State Police will be going over the Fatal Four Violations; speeding, DUI, not wearing a seat belt, and driving while distracted.  Additionally, the Illinois Trucking Association will teach students about blind zones around commercial motor vehicles.
