Local First Springfield hosting shred day

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD - Local First Springfield officials say they are hosting an annual shred event on April 23, 2016.

This year's event will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Habitat for Humanity Restore, located at 2744 South 6th Street in Springfield.

Citizens will be able to have up to five boxes of records, recycling cardboard, light bulbs, eye glasses, hearing aids, building materials, non-controlled prescription drugs in their original containers, and electronics shredded in exchange for a case of non-perishable canned goods.  All donations will benefit the Salvation Army Food Pantry.

Kitchen or bathroom appliances and televisions will not be accepted.  This event is free and open to the public.
