Clinton, Trump hold on to delegate leads; big test lies ahead

Posted: Updated:

With one week to go before the New York presidential primaries, front-runners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are looking for a shot in the arm.

Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz have won a series of contests, further shrinking the delegate leads and solidifying the notion that neither front runner will have an easy path to the nomination.

Donald Trump leads Ted Cruz 755-545. Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sanders 1758-1069 (when superdelegates are factored into the equation).

New York’s primary is next. 291 Democratic delegates are at stake while 95 are at stake for Republicans. Clinton and Trump have solid leads in polls. But both have their work cut out for them in the next few weeks.

Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island voters will be heading to the polls on April 26.
