Goodwill hosting 3 electronics recycling events on April 23

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD - Central Illinois residents who are looking to dispose of unwanted electronics may do so at one of three recycling events being held on April 23.

All three events are being hosted by Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries and Dell.  The three locations will be at the Champaign Goodwill Store at 912 West Anthony, the Jacksonville Goodwill Store at 1809 West Morton, and the Springfield Goodwill Store at 2001 Wabash.

From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., residents can drive up and drop off old and broken computers, cell phones, stereo equipment, printers, faxes, VCRs, DVD players, and other small electronics.  Individuals who donate are asked to remove any personal data from their electronics.  Tube-type TVs will not be accepted due to toxic levels of mercury and lead.  However, older CRT computer monitors will be accepted.

These events are free and open to the public.  For more information about Goodwill, click here.
