Man struck and killed by train in Champaign County Thursday morning

CHAMPAIGN - The Champaign County Sheriff's Office says a 91-year-old man was struck and killed by a train just east of Route 45 Thursday morning.

Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh says the incident happened at County Road 400 North at about 10:30 a.m.  Walsh also says there were no other injuries or fatalities related to this incident.

The Champaign County Sheriff's Office, Champaign County Coroner's Office, and Canadian National Railroad Police are investigating this death.  We will provide more information as it becomes available.
