A Cool Start to April but Warmer Weather Ahead

Spring has finally returned to central Illinois with highs reaching the upper 60s to near 70 today. WAND Chief Meteorologist JC Fultz says temperatures for the first 14 days of April have averaged -6.8 degrees below normal. There have been four mornings with low temperatures below freezing, with the coldest reading of 27 in Decatur on April 9th. 

The extended forecast is calling for a complete change! Fultz says the forecast is calling for temperatures to run +5.2 degrees above average over the next 7 days.
