Lincoln Land Ready To Celebrate Earth Week

SPRINGFIELD-----The Green Center at Lincoln Land Community College is sponsoring several activities to celebrate Earth Week. The public is invited to take part in the events at no cost.

Earth Week runs April 18 through April 22.

Here are a list of events at Lincoln Land Community College that week for Earth Day:

*Cardboard recycling and clothing drive: You can bring in used cardboard for recycling and even swap some of your clothes for new items; Wednesday, April 20, 10 a.m.--2 p.m.

*Vendor Fair: Displays by UIS Department of Environmental Studies, Jubilee Farm, Fair Trade store, Food Fantasies, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Red Gate Farm; April 20, 10 a.m.---2 p.m.

*Guest Speaker: Friends of the Sangamon Valley on "The Science of Restoration"; April 20, 10 a.m.---2 pm.

*Native prairie planting: Meet in front of A. Lincoln Commons to help plant the campus prairie; Thursday, April 21, 9 a.m.---11 a.m.
