New Move for VFW Post 99

DECATUR- The oldest VFW post in Illinois has made a location move into a brand new building with brand new potential.

The VFW Post 99 moved from their hidden location on Water street, where they spent for than 60 years, to a spacious and visible location on Cowgill road in Decatur. The move is a benefit for the Veterans it serves as well as residents in the area.

Fred “ Skip “ Perryman, post Quartermaster said, "here we are wide open we advertise we are easier to get to its a lot better building naturally we just build it up and thankfully from donations from a lot of businesses in Decatur they donated a lot of labor and a lot of materials and stuff to get it build as it is now."

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Wednesday at the new location on 3915 N. Cowgill behind the Thornton's gas station at the corner of Mound & MLK.  .
