BOSTON (AP) -- University of Illinois athlete Tatyana McFadden again paced the women's wheelchair division at the Boston marathon.
McFadden, a paralympian as well as an Illinois wheelchair basketball player, won the women's wheelchair race with a time of 1:42:16 - her 2nd best during a 4-year reign as the best at the race. In fact, Monday's victory washer fourth in a row.
McFadden was 8:10 behind the record pace because of a headwind.
The 26-year-old McFadden lives in Clarksville, Maryland.
She was wearing a singlet honoring Martin Richard, the 8-year-old boy killed in the 2013 finish line bombings.
