U of I students hosting "It Happens Here" event on April 18

CHAMPAIGN - As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, University of Illinois students will host a sexual assault survivor-centered event on April 18.

Officials say "It Happens Here" will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Dining and Residential Programs building on the university's Urbana-Champaign campus.  Anonymous stories from survivors of sexual violence will be shared.

More than 200 people attended last year's inaugural event, and officials are aiming for the same amount this year.  This event is free and open to the public.
