WASHINGTON, D.C.----Illinois is among the beneficiaries of $95 million in funding for land and water conservation projects.

U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell says the funds will be distributed from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to all 50 states, U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.

Jewell says the funds support state-identified and community-supported projects that create jobs and recreational opportunities in every county across the country.

Illinois is allocated more than $3 million. A state-by-state list of the fiscal year 2016 funding allocation can be seen by clicking HERE.
