Taylorville Police asking for public’s assistance in locating runaway

TAYLORVILLE – Taylorville and Stonington officers searched a home today for a runaway teenager but found nothing and say they need the public’s help in locating her.

The Taylorville Police Department and the Stonington Police Department served a state authorized search warrant at 105 West South Street on Monday, April 18. They searched the residence for 17-year-old Rachel Barrish but did not find her there.

Authorities say Barrish is currently listed as a runaway from Taylorville. She was last seen on February 18, 2016 at her home in Taylorville.

Barrish stands at 5’7’’, weighs around 100 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. A picture of her that is circulating has been attached to this article.

Christian County law enforcement are still actively investigating her disappearance. They ask that anyone with information regarding Rachel Barrish’s whereabouts to call the Taylorville Police Department at 217-824-2211 or Christian County Crime Stoppers at 217-824-9100.
