CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- After seven sunny days in a row, clouds and showers have made their way back into the forecast.
Meteorologist Adam Del Rosso says a slow-moving boundary will begin to work into central Illinois today bringing the rain chances. Showers and a few rumbles of thunder will be possible today, especially in the afternoon. Otherwise, expect a mostly cloudy day with highs still above average in the mid 70s.
A greater chance for rain makes it to the area on Wednesday as off and on showers will be likely for most of the day. Eventually, the axis of moisture will start to shift east on Thursday, but a few scattered showers remain possible in the afternoon.
By the time all is said and done Friday, rainfall totals should range between .50" and 1.00".
