Renovations Set For Krannert Art Museum


CHAMPAIGN – The Krannert Art Museum will temporarily close for renovations.

The museum, located on the University of Illinois campus, will close May 15th.  It will reopen some galleries when classes resume in August.  The will be completed and the museum will be fully operating in November.

Many exhibition spaces have not been updated since the museum opened in 1961.  The renovations include LED lighting upgrades, new electrical wiring and new floors, walls and ceilings.

The University has not set a dollar figure as to what the project will cost.
