WASHINGTON, D.C. - A woman from Illinois is among those honored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for outstanding community service.

FBI Director James B. Comey recognized the recipients of the 2015 Director's Community Leadership Award on April 15. Suzanne Phegley of Collinsville, Illinois is the state's recipient.

The award has been given out every year since 1990 to recognize people who have tirelessly made their communities a better place.

“[This year’s honorees] have done extraordinary good across communities in this country and have made a lasting difference," said Comey. “We want to thank them, because they’re doing the same things we’re doing, which is trying to make life better for the American people."
