Friends Creek Campground to open for season

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - Macon County Conservation District officials say Macon County's only public campground will open for the season on May 1.

The Friends Creek Campground, located in Friends Creek Conservation Area, offers electric and non-electric sites, as well as showers, flush toilets, grills, and a dump station.  Visitors will be able to explore nature and spend time with family and friends while enjoying a quiet place to relax.

Daily campsite fees are $17 and $20 for electric sites, and $10 and $12 for non-electric sites.  Additionally, a large campsite, able to accommodate organized groups of up to 60 people, is also available.

To make a reservation, call (217) 423-7708.  For more information, visit the Macon County Conservation District's website.
