DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District is teaming up with the Decatur Audubon Society to host the 35th annual Festival of Spring and Sangamon River Cleanup on April 23.

The event kicks off with a trail walk at 8:00 a.m., followed by the Sangamon River Cleanup from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Participants are asked to wear clothing that won't be ruined by dirt, and to bring their own work gloves, if possible.  All participants will receive a free lunch after the cleanup.  Registration will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Other Festival of Spring activities will include fishing, a canoe rodeo, music, crafts, a vintage baseball game, and much more.

The Festival of Spring and Sangamon River Cleanup are free and open to the public, with a small fee being charged for the canoe rodeo and food.  For more information, or to see a full list of scheduled activities, click here.
