Purple Rain Returns To The Big Screen


Decatur – Prince fans will be able to see his classic movie “Purple Rain” on the big screen.

The Lincoln Square Theatre in downtown Decatur, 141 N. Main Street, will show the 1984 film on Friday, April 29th.  Doors will open at 7pm that night with the movie starting at 8pm.

Prince, a popular recording artist, was found dead in an elevator at his Minnesota home earlier this week.  An investigation into the cause of his death is underway.  He was 57.

Purple Rain was released July of 1984.  It starred Prince and Apollonia Kotero.  The film won an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or at LincolnSquareTheatre.com.  Those online tickets are available starting today, Saturday.  Individual tickets will cost $5.
