Girl Scouts Searching For Gold Award Winners

Posted:

SPRINGFIELD----If you have won a Gold Award and are a former or current Girl Scout in Illinois, then the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois want to talk to you.

In honor of this year's 100th anniversary of the Gold Award, a celebration is planned as part of Girl Scout Day at the Illinois State Capitol on May 6. Girl Scouts of Central Illinois are looking for those girl scouts past and present who have won the organization's highest honor. All Gold Award recipients will be Grand Marshals in the march from the Prairie Capital Convention Center to the Illinois State Capitol steps beginning at 9:30 a.m. on May 6.

There will be a private reception following the event in the rotunda of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan's office. Award winners are also invited to host a booth at the Girl Scout Expo happening that afternoon, with a theme focused on the subject of the Gold Award project, current career or personal passion.
