Former Kincaid Mayor Could Spend Time Behind Bars

Posted: Updated:

Kincaid - A former Kincaid mayor who previously was sentenced to probation for official misconduct and possession of a controlled substance could now spend time behind bars.

Former mayor Doug Thomas was in court Monday for breaking terms of his probation. Police say in summer of 2015,  they found a knife in his vehicle.

Thomas will be sentenced in June and could face up to eight years in prison.

In 2015 after Thomas entered his guilty plea his attorney told WAND News, the former mayor "would like to move on" with his life.  Thomas resigned his position in August of 2014 after having served in Kincaid government for 28 years.
