UIS To Hold 45th Commencement Ceremony

SPRINGFIELD----The University of Illinois Springfield is planning for its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14.

The ceremony will be held Saturday, May 14, at 4 p.m. at the Prairie Capital Convention Center on Ninth and Adams Streets in downtown Springfield.

1,106 of the 1.716 students eligible to graduate will participate. Tickets are not required for admission, and seating is available on a first come, first served basis. No reserved seating is available, except for special needs such as interpretive services and wheelchairs.

The UIS commencement speaker is UIS alumna and Springfield native Donna Sollenberger. She was part of the first graduating class of Sangamon State University, which is now UIS. Sollenberger earned a bachelor's degree in Literature in 1971, and a master's degree in Literature in 1974.
