SPRINGFIELD - The Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois and the Illinois Municipal League are gathering in Springfield to urge lawmakers to pass legislation that would reinstate the "Public Duty Rule."

Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois President Pat Devaney, Illinois Municipal League Executive Director Brad Cole, and other officials will meet at the Illinois State Capitol Tuesday afternoon to show their support for Senate Bill 3070.

Under the bill, government entities would be protected from certain lawsuits that can be imposed by citizens who receive local services, such as police and fire protection.
