Cruz Selects Fiorina As His Running Mate

INDIANAPOLIS-----NBC News has confirmed that Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz has picked former technology executive Carly Fiorina as his choice for vice presidential nominee.

The Texas senator will formally announce his decision this afternoon in Indianapolis. Cruz is working on building momentum, after challenger Donald Trump swept the Republican primaries Tuesday in five Northeastern states.

The 61-year-old Fiorina endorsed Cruz after stopping her own presidential bid earlier this year. Fiorina is a former chief executive at Hewlett-Packard, and has never held elected office.
