MATTOON - The Mattoon Police Department says five people were arrested, and one person is wanted for questioning, in connection with a fight that happened Wednesday morning.

Mattoon police say officers were dispatched to the 17th Place Apartments, located in the 2200 block of South 17th Street, for a report of a fight on the sidewalk in the complex.  Upon arriving, officers arrested the following individuals:

- Quanesha Ivy, 26: Faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery and mob action.
- Xavier McCray, 28: Faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery, mob action, and being a fugitive from justice in connection with a Lake County, Indiana arrest warrant.
- Rynell Frazier, 28: Faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery and mob action.
- Quintaria Gray, 24: Faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery and mob action.
- Anthony James, 27: Faces a preliminary charge of criminal trespass to property.

Mattoon police say a sixth person, identified as Brittany Townsend, 25, ran from the scene before police officers arrived.  Townsend is wanted for questioning in connection with the fight, and for trespassing on the property.  Townsend is also wanted on a Lake County, Indiana arrest warrant.

Authorities say Townsend and James were banned by apartment management in connection with an incident that resulted in one person being stabbed on April 4.

All individuals who were arrested, with the exception of James, were taken to Coles County Jail.  James was released after posting bond.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Townsend, you are asked to call the Mattoon Police Department at (217) 235-5451.  We will provide more information as it becomes available.
