State Comptroller Disburses MAP Grant payments for students

Posted:

CHICAGO - The State Comptroller has disbursed MAP Grant money for college students. Leslie Munger says she received $164 million in MAP Grant vouchers from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission Wednesday. Munger says she immediately turned around payments to colleges and universities to assist the 125,000 college students who rely upon hat funding to further their education. Munger says students have suffered unacceptable hardship due to the budget impasse and its her priority to provide relief however possible. She reminds students this is not a long term solution because the funding signed into law earlier this week covers only half of what students were promised this year.
