CHAMPAIGN -- For the second straight year, rain will put a damper on the Illinois Marathon in Champaign.
Meteorologist Adam Del Rosso says runners will be dodging showers and storms Saturday as a warm front lifts back into the area. He says the showers will be scattered across the area starting Saturday mid-morning and continuing into the afternoon. Rumbles of thunder will be possible too.
As for winds, they will be gusty out of the east at 10-15 miles per hour as temperatures hold in the low 50s for most of the morning.
The only event safe from the rain will be the 5K Friday evening as just a few clouds will be overhead with temperatures in the low 60s.
