HPV Vaccine and Race

MASSACHUSETTS - The HPV vaccine is believed to reduce cancer among all Americans, however racial inequalities could be a factor.  Harvard researchers used a mathematical model to predict the impact of vaccination on six HPV-related cancers.  They found the risk of dying from these cancers will drop significantly for all races and ethnicities. But unless there are efforts to improve access to cancer screenings and treatment for minorities, racial differences will continue or even widen. Nearly 80-million people are currently infected with HPV.
