A Cure for Gray Hair

NEW YORK – A new stem cell study could lead to treatments for skin pigment disorders and even gray hair! Researchers at New York University identified molecular signals that control hair and skin color in mice and humans.  They say creating drugs to activate these pathways could help re-pigment damaged skin cells in patients with vitiligo, correct discoloration around scars and even fuse color back into grayed hair cells. Researchers plan to further investigate how other cell repair and signaling pathways interact with these stem cells.
