First Grandstand Performers Announced For DuQuoin Fair

DUQUOIN-----An eclectic group of artists are now scheduled as the first performers for the 2016 DuQuoin State Fair.

State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon says it begins Friday, September 2 with country music artist Jamey Johnson. He is a singer/songwriter best known for his songs "In Color" and "High Cost of Living". Johnson has written songs for George Strait, Trace Adkins, and Joe Nichols.

On Monday, September 5, artist Sugar Ray will be at the fair for Labor Day. The singer, songwriter, and actor has had several hit singles and multi-platinum albums. Also scheduled to perform as part of the fifth annual Summerland Tour at the fair are artists, Everlast, Lit, and Sponge.

An on-sale date for the acts mentioned above has not been set.

Below is the pricing for each performance:

Friday, September 2:  Jamey Johnson

Tier 2 - $15 / Tier 1 - $20

Monday, September 5:  Sugar Ray / Everlast / Lit / Sponge

Tier 2 - $19 / Tier 1 - $24


More details regarding ticket sales, special events, and additional grandstand acts will be released in the coming weeks and months.  Dates for the 2016 Du Quoin State Fair are August 26 - September 5.
